We deal with insects and rodents
and help limit their entry points.

Every infestation is different. We inspect, identify the species, treat the source — then seal the entry points found during the visit.

Technician treating an ant colony along a foundation

Carpenter ants, pharaoh ants, earwigs or woodlice: we assess the signs of activity to determine an approach suited to the situation. Depending on what we observe, the treatment may target nesting areas and include a barrier applied around the building.

  • Inspection of areas prone to activity
  • Targeted treatment based on the conditions observed
  • Advice to reduce the factors that attract them

Installing a secured bait station under a kitchen appliance

We assess the signs of activity and potential entry points to determine a suitable approach. Depending on what we observe, the treatment may include installing locked bait stations, using mechanical traps and sealing some accessible openings.

  • Inspection of the main risk areas
  • Locating potential entry points
  • Devices installed in appropriate, safe locations

Technician steam-treating the edge of a mattress for bed bugs

Depending on the situation observed, the treatment may include targeted treatment of the affected areas, such as box springs and baseboards. A follow-up visit may be recommended about 14 days later to assess activity and determine whether further measures are appropriate.

  • Preparation instructions provided before the treatment
  • Follow-up visit scheduled as needed

Technician applying bait gel with a syringe under a kitchen cabinet

Depending on the conditions observed, bait gels may be applied in small amounts where insects are likely to travel, such as near joints and under cabinets. The method and application areas are chosen with the layout of food preparation areas in mind.

  • Targeted application in appropriate locations
  • Special precautions near work surfaces
  • Periodic follow-up options for food service businesses

Technician treating the outside perimeter of a home

Depending on its location and accessibility, the treatment may include treating or removing a nest under a soffit, in a wall or in the ground. Our technicians use suitable protective equipment, and the appointment is offered based on the situation and availability.

  • Treatment method determined after assessment
  • Work at height possible when conditions allow
  • Contact us to check the available options

Our work starts with an honest assessment. We explain what we found and what we propose to do — before we take out any equipment.

Our method

We treat the cause,
not the symptom.

Jesse & James practises integrated pest management: we find where the infestation comes from before treating. Less product, applied where the species actually travels.

Ask my question

We use products registered for use in Canada, applied in a targeted way in cracks and travel paths — not sprayed everywhere. Before leaving, the technician tells you how long to keep the room clear and what to watch for.

We set the appointment by phone, based on the week’s schedule. If it’s urgent — a wasp nest near an entrance, rodents in a food business — tell us when you call: we’ll see what we can move around.

Ants (carpenter, pharaoh, black), mice and rats, bed bugs, cockroaches, wasps and hornets, spiders, earwigs, woodlice, pantry moths, silverfish and fleas. If your situation isn’t on this list, call us: we’ll tell you honestly whether it’s something we handle.

Rarely. For a standard ant or rodent treatment, you can stay home. For a full bed bug treatment, we ask you to be away for four hours while everything dries and airs out. We give you written instructions before the visit.

Call us. Depending on the pest and what we found on the first visit, the follow-up isn’t the same — ants coming back in July and mice in November are two different situations. The planned follow-up is written on your quote and discussed before the work.

Identify the problem

The telltale
sign

Before you see the pest, you see its traces. Here’s what gives each species away.

Carpenter ants

Fine, pale sawdust at the base of a wall or under a window, and a dry rustling inside the wall in the evening.

What we do Targeted treatment of nesting areas, with a perimeter barrier depending on the situation.

Mice and rats

Five-millimetre droppings along baseboards, chewed packaging at the back of cupboards, a musky smell in the basement.

What we do Locked stations, traps and sealing of accessible openings found during the inspection.

Bed bugs

Small rust-coloured spots on mattress seams, and bites in rows of three or four on the arms and shoulders.

What we do Targeted treatment of the affected areas, then a follow-up visit if needed, about fourteen days later.

Cockroaches

Black specks like pepper behind appliances, and a sweetish smell that settles in the kitchen.

What we do Small amounts of bait gel along travel paths, taking food preparation areas into account.

Wasps and hornets

Steady traffic to the same spot on a soffit or a crack, always the same place, from morning to night.

What we do Nest treatment or removal depending on location and accessibility, with suitable protective equipment.

Earwigs and woodlice

They mostly show up after rain, in damp basement rooms and along door sills.

What we do Perimeter treatment and advice on the damp spots that attract them.
