Privacy policy
What our website collects, why, who we share it with and how to exercise your rights.
Last updated: September 21, 2026
Jesse & James Extermination cares about protecting your personal information. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit jessejamesextermination.com or use our form, how we use it and what your rights are, under Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, as amended by Law 25.
1. Person in charge of protecting personal information
The person with the highest authority at Jesse & James Extermination is in charge of protecting personal information. For any question about this policy or to exercise your rights, contact them:
- by email: info@jessejamesextermination.com
- by phone: (514) 641-8868
- by mail: 4232, 42e, Montréal, QC H1Z 1S1
2. Information we collect
- When you fill out the form — your name, email address, phone number, the type of problem, your description of it and, if you attach any, up to five photos.
- If you accept cookies — traffic data collected by Google Analytics: pages viewed, visit length, referring site, device and browser type, approximate region. Google Analytics 4 does not store your IP address.
- When you visit the site — as with any website, our host records your IP address, browser and the pages requested in its technical logs. The site’s fonts are hosted on our own server: displaying them does not involve any outside service.
- To protect the form — to limit abusive submissions, the server keeps a digital fingerprint of your IP address and email address, meaning a transformed value that does not contain them in readable form. These fingerprints are purged once they are more than an hour old, at the next form submission. The form’s technical log never records your name, email address or message.
- Your cookie choice — it is stored in your browser for one year.
3. Cookies
A cookie is a small file stored in your browser. Our site only uses Google Analytics audience measurement cookies (_ga and _ga_…, which last up to two years). It uses no advertising cookies.
These cookies are turned off by default: Google Analytics only loads if you click “Accept” in the banner. You can change your mind at any time with the “Manage cookies” button at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw your consent, the Google Analytics cookies already stored are deleted.
4. What your information is used for
- responding to your request, calling you back and preparing a quote;
- sending you an acknowledgment by email;
- protecting the form against abusive submissions and keeping the site secure;
- measuring site traffic to improve it, if you agree.
We do not use your information for advertising and we do not sell it.
5. Your consent
By checking the box on the form, you agree that we may use the information provided to handle your request and contact you. Your consent to cookies is requested separately, in the banner. You can withdraw either one at any time, by writing to us or with the “Manage cookies” button.
6. Service providers and transfers outside Quebec
To run the site, we use service providers that process some information on our behalf:
- Hostinger, which hosts the site and relays the form’s emails;
- Google, for Google Analytics, if you accept it;
- our email provider, which receives the requests sent through the form.
These providers may process information on servers located outside Quebec. To learn more about Google’s practices, see its privacy policy. Apart from these cases, we do not share your information with anyone, unless required by law.
7. Retention
Requests received through the form, including photos, are kept in our mailbox for as long as needed to handle your request and follow up on the service, then destroyed. Photos are not stored on the website’s server: they are attached directly to the email sent to us, and the temporary file created during sending is deleted right away. Google Analytics data is kept for the period set in that service.
8. Security
The site is served only over a secure connection (HTTPS). The form rejects submissions coming from other sites, limits the number of submissions and only accepts images. We take reasonable measures so that only the people who handle requests can access them.
9. Your rights
Subject to the exceptions provided by law, you can:
- find out what information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- have it corrected if it is inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous;
- withdraw your consent or ask for your information to be deleted;
- receive your information in a structured, commonly used technological format.
To exercise these rights, write to info@jessejamesextermination.com. We will respond within 30 days of receiving your request. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.
10. Changes
We may update this policy, especially if the site or our practices change. The date of the last update appears at the top of the page.
